Learn how to safely guide and empower women physically and mentally, throughout the journey of pregnancy and childbirth. This intensive course is aimed at accredited yoga teachers, doulas, midwives and people within the field of childbirth education* who wish to expand their personal and professional development to help women during this powerful time of transition. Discover how the practice of yoga, pranayama, meditation and visualization beautifully supports women through all three trimesters of pregnancy, helping them to gain confidence and strength for childbirth, and how it can also be of huge benefit during post-natal recovery.

Diana Azavedo – ERYT 500, RPYT
Diana is the lead trainer and has been teaching yoga for over a decade in Dubai. She is an ERYT-500 hour Yoga Alliance certified instructor and a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) with over 150 hours of prenatal training and more than 6 years of prenatal teaching experience. Diana has a deep personal understanding of the experience of teaching prenatal yoga and is passionate about supporting women during this amazing journey.

Alexandra Collishaw, Women’s Health Physio
Alexandra, often known as Ally to her patients, qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1998 and worked for the National Health Service for 5 years, before serving as a Military Physiotherapist in the British Army for 7 years. Ally specialises in women’s health, especially pregnancy related problems both pre and postnatal, treating conditions such as pelvic pain, back pain, SPD (symphasis pubis dysfunction) abdominal separation, incontinence and prolapse. She is passionate about helping women get back to exercise safely post pregnancy and uses her skills as a musculoskeletal sports injuries physiotherapist and women’s health specialist to get the best results.
Ally has worked in Dubai since 2011 and is based at optimalTHERAPY at optimalFITNESS. She believes that our pelvic floor is crucial in so many ways and that many people neglect it, causing problems post pregnancy that could be avoided. Ally will be sharing her deep pre and postnatal knowledge with our students, discussing the pelvic floor, its important role in pregnancy and labour, as well as offering safe ways to support the body’s healing journey post birth.
Zoe Cresswell, Midwife
Zoe became a midwife in 2006 after graduating with a first class honors degree in BSc Midwifery. She qualified and worked in the UK for many years before moving to Dubai. While in the UK she was based in a busy London hospital and covered many areas of midwifery care, including the Labour ward, triage, pre and postnatal care, inpatient care, research and mental health. Since moving to Dubai, Zoe has been caring for pre and postnatal clients and has also taken advantage of her love of health and sport and qualified as a personal trainer, specialising in training pre and postnatal clients. During our course, Zoe will guiding us through the stages of labour and beyond, as well as offering her deep insight into the best practices and positions for childbirth.


*Yoga students require a prior YA 200 hour teacher training certification. Attendees from childbirth professions such as a midwife or doula, please note, that we will not spend time going over the basics of yoga poses in the course and that the training does not qualify you to teach a pre-natal yoga class without a prior Yoga Alliance standard teaching certification. It will however, give you invaluable knowledge and tools to help support your own professional practice. Participants of the course are asked to attend / sit in on 3 pre-natal classes prior to the training.
